Vote for your least favourite shop

Post by Lemming »

In some ways I’m a bit reluctant to do this. With the coffeeshops under severe pressure it seems a bit churlish to pick on any of them. I also occasionally get complaining emails from badly reviewed shops.

On the other hand, it’s a bit of fun to see which shop most people love to hate.

The shops in this poll are the places that consistently collect bad reviews on the main site. They include the big commercial shops like La Canna and some, like Dutch Flowers and The Noon that polarise opinion between fans and detractors.

they cant really complain about opinions, rather than complain they should take the comments on board and see if they can do anything to rectify the problems people seem to be having with them

Has to be paradise, La canna, bulldogs and even Grasshoppers have their uses, whether it is the terrace at grashopper, a beer and sky sports at the bull dog, or a half decent breakfast at La Canna, they all have their place, JUST DON'T BUY THEIR WEED.

I am not surprised Dutch Flowers is on the list but, for location & view, you can't beat it, the tender is a jerk (according to stories), but I have visited this shop every time I go to The Dam and have never had an issue.

Cheers

have to be smokey's, of the ones I've visited, all but it has SOME use. i can only imagine that hi skool kids like smokey's cause it reminds'em of skool.

never been to la canna, but after the horrible reviews on this site, i must say i may have to look it up on next visit. sorta like slowing down when passing a car wreck, mebbe?

of course, i always thought George Lazeby got a bum deal

I voted for Paradise as being the worst shop. This is tourist trap run by money grubbers n rip off artists. If I could see one shop closed down, it would have to be this one.

I personally have never had a problem with the guy in Dutch Flowers a few people have complained about. I think I would be grumpy sometimes too with all of the clueless tourists coming in and asking stoopid questions,
complaining and lacking any kind of manners and human respect. I have seen it. I have seen the guy get pissed off at people and I can understand why. Day after day the same ole BS from tourists. I personally like the shop; the view, the girl watching and also the weed. The strain, Zenith, is one of my personal favorites. Peace.

Dutch Flowers has such a bad rep now that I'm reluctant to even go in. It seems like a nice enough place, good location, and apparently good gear, but to me it's not worth the chance of the bartender going ballistic on me just because I'm a tourist. There are plenty of other great shops to choose from, so to me it's just not worth the "risk" even though I am very curious about the place.

Well on any given day you can have either a good or bad experience in almost any business.

With the above said, I'd have to say the current policies at the Grasshopper puts it at the bottom of the shops that I have been in.

The last time I was in the Grasshopper was about 3 years ago - early morning. If I remember right they had a 20 euro minimum purchase for smoke in which the budtender would weigh heavy. The deal breaker was being asked to leave after just being squeezed by the budtender because I wanted to smoke there but did not want to buy a 4 euro drink.

Any coffeeshop that refuses to let you smoke the bud you just purchased from them because you don't want to buy a drink will make my boycott list.
My thoughts are free.

i think any coffeeshop with a minimum buy is worth staying away from!

aswell as the shops that say you gotta buy the weed there.

which is why paradise is the worst place i been in, guys were rude seemed like they didnt want our custom and they demanded we buy weed or hash.

grasshopper, the bouncers were too pushy for my liking when they were just ID'ing us, i can understand being ID'd i have no problem with that but theres no need to be rude about it. then when we went down and actually saw the prices, fuck that! we walked straight out

Haven't voted here because I haven't visited all the shops ...Can't imagine Kadinsky being on the list though . At least the one near Spui. We found it
friendly ,even somewhat upscale in terms of decor . Our purchase was satisfactory . (Trans- Himalayen or something like that ) The seating comfortable,Music to my tastes -seem to remember a little Aretha Franklin .Nice cup of Joe, patrons both local and tourists...plan on visiting again tnext time round .

I voted Bulldog because its the only one on that list i went into (because someone i was with wanted to call in) The staff were rude, the smoke was overpriced and substandard - two things which really dont go together. Just a poor place when weighed against places like floyd's, picasso's, the grey area etc.

I had decided to stay clear of the grasshopper just going on reviews, im glad i did....minimum orders, arsy bouncers, spend 20 euro's but you cant stay because you dont want a drink!!! cheeky bastards

I agree with what was said above...if certain coffee shops dont like the fact they get consistantly bad reviews here's a radical idea!! take notice, have a word with your staff, improve your menu/prices, drop bad attitudes & remember your in a service industry. Word spreads in the cannabis community and this site is testement to it, your business relies on us the customers walking away with a smile on our faces.

That said there are lots of really nice places with staff who may have the odd off day, but generally seem to be very welcoming and helpful to people. Shops that make an effort to have varied menu's of quality smokes at reasonable prices....and thats why they go from strength to strength.

The Noon - I've mentioned why in the noon thread on the board.

I knew about the bulldog and the grasshopper from the beginning, and on passing La Canna and Paradise for the first time, I could just see they were blatant tourist traps.

So, since I've never visited them before, The Noon is my only 'never return'
