CBD strains in Amsterdam?

Post by robert__ »

Hey guys,
I'm on the hunt for CBD rich strains(4%+) available in Amsterdam. I heard 'catatonic' was on sale for a while but I haven't been able to find it myself. Any tips? Much appreciated, & many thanks in advance for any help you might have.

I've asked locals but many bud tenders seem confused as to what CBD even is. I was hoping by reaching out on this forum somebody may have more information. I think catatonic is the only one I heard of being available and it looks like it's no longer around.

Yeah, I guess I might have to look into growing for personal use. How is that looked upon in the netherlands? anybody know? I heard it is "tolerated" to keep 5 plants but I'm not sure?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug_polic ... etherlands
below is a quick cut and paste from the wiki above
According to current gedoogbeleid the possession of a maximum amount of five grams cannabis for personal use is not prosecuted. Cultivation is treated in a similar way. Cultivation of 5 plants or less is usually not prosecuted when they are renounced by the cultivator.

Nah, officially the law and public opinion changed a bit lately. As soon as you use 'technical equipment', like a lamp, odor control, cannabis related fertilizer and/or 'selected seeds', you are a professional grower and, depending on the police area you live in, you can be prosecuted, even when everything is renounced by the cultivator. Normally they take the plants, destroy all your equipment and leave it in the place you were growing, put posters on your windows so the neighbours can see they live next to a criminal, and leave.

Growing a maximum of 5 plants outdoors, grown from 'random' seeds and using a 'random' fertilizer, is normally not prosecuted, only when the plants are 'too big'...

Most of the time the police doesn't care too much about small indoor grows, but when caught, the energy company will cut the power for a random period of time to find out if you did steal energy, and the tax might try to fine you for not paying tax over something you can not pay tax for.

A bit of a weird situation, normally there is no problem with small grows, but there is no guarantee. At least the penalties are low compared to other countries, and catching small growers has very low priority in most areas.

I've read a few times that OG18 has high levels of CBD. Utopia had OG18 a few months ago, but I can't confirm if its still available, you'll have to ask the troops on the ground :)

Thanks for the extra information everyone. I don't think I will grow if it is not really tolerated. OG18 looks like it has about 0.80% of CBD which while sort of high it is nowhere near what I'm looking for. I'm surprised some coffee shops dont specialize in CBD for its medicinal value but i guess a culture hasn't really grown around it yet. It seems like the US are making some good strides in providing CBD-rich plants. Hopefully amsterdam catches on soon :-)

I also guess CBD-rich strains being available in the US is just a result of the more professional/medical approach to cannabis, where as amsterdam sort of just focuses on getting high.

You tried Northern Lights?

This batch from Central Coffee shop.. also

Black Spice

Image

from Greenhouse Effect

Although I think any piece of hash made from mainly Indica strains will have a higher CBD to THC ratio
