Flying Pig Downtown

Post by bluegrass »

booked up here for first weekend of may, first time ever in a hostel.

is it a good laugh? this trip is more about the booze than weed tbh.

great location and hopefully meet plenty of the fairer sex

I am hoping to book a twin room there, does anyone know how many floors up the rooms are?
I have a large case and some staircases are easier to use than others lol, it's not carrying them up that's hard it's getting the damn thing down lol
if you enjoy it pass it on

This place aint for me. Stayed here for my first trip. Staff were nice enough but that was about
it. I booked up to stay in a double and as it was first trip didn't really know what we were booking. I
liked the idea of having a bar and fellow travellers to meet and greet.
The room was fuckin shit. Mattress was plastic ffs   and was tiny. But I didn't care, I wasn't there for
the room, it was a place to crash.
During the middle of the night during my stay some one opened my door and peered into the room.
Luckily the light woke me up to check it out. This made me uneasy from then on tbh. Our keys were forever
not working properly anyway because they use a shit electronic system on card.

Not really the hostels fault either, more the guests, but parts of the doorms/elavator stunk of vomit. Still,
they could do a better job cleaning it up

the thing that made me quite angry was after all this we paid top dollar for this shit, The hostel aint even cheap. My
room a night was higher than a double at voyagers. And voyagers take care of ya.
Different vibe I know but still

Lastly why I wouldn't stay here / area again; Don't like that bit of town. Far too many creeps for me when getting back
at night. Girlfriend feels uncomfortable. We saw some funky shit that first trip and it weren't too nice tbh.
Worst strip of the dam in the evenings imho.

I stayed the other side in Waarmostratt once and also walked in that area late and am lucky enough to say I haven't seen anything dodgy anywhere in the Dam on my last 10 visits
You are the first person I've heard say negative things, and all info is useful.
Still gonna give it a go as Voyagers is booked up for the dates I want (not stayed there yet)
I also wanna try funky chickin but they Alas are full too.
But as I say thanks for your info and will look out for it.
if you enjoy it pass it on
