After the 20 minute ride from Schipol I walked straight to Amnesia.
Thanks to all who recommended this place - it was exactly what I was looking for - close to Centraal, comfy, beautiful place and good smoke.
When I arrived, Sissy was there and was very kind and patient with me. She had no problem selling me half a gram as I did not have much time to spend and showed me all of the sativas. I chose the Amnesia Haze. This is not the regular haze that goes under the Amnesia name as the guy who grows this for them was busted and has not gotten back into the game yet... this was a super silver haze that smelled better and fruitier than the sour diesel and the other sativas they had at the time.
The odor was citrus and caramel and the smoke was a bit strong going down the throat...the high is immediate and gives a clear powerful top of the head kind of buzz - perfect way to start the day.
After settling down for the buzz I ordered coffee and soda and fruit drinks and tipped the staff very generously - my way of saying: I'm going to be parked here for quite some time but I will make it worth your while...no cheap deadbeat here...
Sissy was so cool that she made one of the guys sitting on the bench give me his seat...she said he is a local and he would not mind (I think he was a friend of one of the workers there, he came and went a few times)
Since it was raining/sleeting outside I had no intention of getting up and walking around...Amnesia is so comfortable that it makes you stay put...never will I go to one of my old hangouts where they have those hard wooden chairs.
Amnesia has a padded bench alongside the whole side of the wall with cushions and nice modern lounge chairs on the other side of the table.
There is a bar area and a nice smoke bar next to it. Note the Vapo...
From inside the shop you can see the canal - a nice addition to the place.
After two hours of indulging in the Haze I went again to the bar.
Now Itay was working the bar and I got half a gram of the MK Ultra.
This is a great Indica, nice and sticky on the fingers, musky smell and very smooth smoke in your throat.
The effect is a slow rising stoned feeling that could easily give you the tunnel trip/whities if you smoke enough..I was in heaven.
After 4 hours in Amnesia I headed back to the airport - a perfect time in my favorite new coffee shop.
A week later on my way back I popped in for a quick smoke and then walked around a bit. Went to see Homegrown Fantasy - another shop that came with good recommendations - I liked it but did not stay for a smoke. The atmosphere is very nice - sort of like a health food store in California that sells weed...
I did buy one of their space cakes and it made the flight back to NY so much better - will do it again given the chance.
All in all - a short but productive trip to Am'dam.
Can't wait for the next one...
