Things went amazingly smooth across the Appalachaina on a beautifuL Saturday to Sister Ruths near Dulles ...KLM 652 or whatever the flight 40 minutes early bags waiting ...Connexxions right to Fantasia no glitch ...a cool Pinksteren Maandag found us on the streets before the 9 AM shops opened Arabica was first, closest to Hotel to Open ...3 gram deal for 10 Euro ...their Gruis ...nice start to the morning ...town was really pretty calm until mid afternoon ...other visits day one were CS Johnny on Johnny JordanPlein -Gram Sneeuw White ...en route to La Faza a nice Italian restaurant on Hazenstraat ...they have a gumbolike Vis souppe ...
also visited Basjoe ,which was its usual pleasent stop ... Did the Cuyp today and discovered CS de Graal .Great shop big ,chess players shop,with pool table, internet ...really comfortable ,got nicely ripped on a
sativa mix they have ...a;as the guy wouldn't let me snap a menu pic ...guess he's worried about the legality thing ....then made our way to Nes ...great shop as well ...met DC signed the book ...on the hotel computer here ...they kind of put one behind the reception desk ... will add to this thread as the trip unfold in AMS until Friday ...then Zutphen/Deventer ...later...

Good to see some of the less familiar shops getting a mention. Any chance you could elaborate on your descriptions of them? Would be good to know more.

Always good to get the first day out of the way with no hassles anywhere.

Sounds like some bargains to be found. If the weather is good on my trip, i'm hoping to venture southways a bit to check out some less known coffeeshops also.

Ok ... De Graal is located on Albert Cuyp Straat ,heading say toward the Museum from the Market part of the straat ...appeared to be a gaming shop ,like chess backgammon,pool area upstairs ,Internet rate 1 Euro half hour up by pool table ...Plush couches/Chairs + a few booths downstairs ...folks playing chess /pool smoking weed ...We got a Sativa Mix called Shaman ...seems they sell in 5 /10 euro bags how much depending om what you buy...asked to tale a menu pic ...but the dealer ,who was friendly otherwise just couldn't let me he said ...Johnny was a sort of emergency (too much Heiniken /Tea en route ) stop ...smallish local crew ,not really inspiring inside ,just stools . bought a gram of something there ,and it was good ,but it all is so far, good prices I think ... if one was a local would be a nice enough hang out everyone seemed to know each other , but not a real hangout for a while shop ...like de Graal could be ...I think y'all all know about NES ...Basjoes is just a nice relaxing sort of shop ...were there earlier today ...or actually I kinda headed straight there whilst de Vrouw was shopping a bit longer than I had in mind at WaterlooPlein ....was some heavy duty bong toking going on at the counter by sounded like Brits ...some Japanese (or maybe Korean ) Tourists having a giggly time in one of the booths ...The Fantasia staff tells us that Arabica has the best deals in the area ...so far we've been happy with the 3 gram deal from monday ...Went in to nearby CS Old Amsterdam ,but they weren't too keen on us firing up something from another shop and just ordering a tea/coffee so we looked at their expensive menu and strolled on ... Note to Lemming : Club Media in de Pijp is gutted and being totally overhauled I think ....Well back to Amsterdam ....

Reporting from the Hotel reception desk on Nieuwe Keizersgracht ...just in from a last night in Amsterdam ...the hotels quiet ...but Amsterdam was rocking... four great daze of weather ,and shop-ping and fine hosts ...gosh .hate to leave ...made it to some of the forum faves for the first time ...de Kuil -Nevilles Haze ....Amnesia- AMnesia HAze ...but probably the greatest actual smoking pleasure came from a pre-rolled Hash Joint from Basjoes ...so tasty for so long...Joe Morgan is a hall of fame baseball player and the guy at Basjoes resembles Joe Morgan with like long dreads (at least the yanks will know what I mean) ...de Kuil was great - Itchykoo Park ...my god how could you not love a Coffeeshop that plays Itchicoo Park ...followed by Lovely Rita no less ....went back to de Graal this afternoon (my traveling Companion -the TC- can't make less than 3 visits to the Cuyp in a 4 day stay in AMS)...really like that shop though ...so spacious and comfortable,sell 5 Euro bags ...Annesia was full of youngsters ...well younger than me.. having good time ,taking lots of pix of each other with their joints .... Grey Area was packed ,,,Abraxas looked packed ...La Tertulia was never open ...next stop Zutphen

Coffeeshop Liberty Zutphen ...they sell 12 Euro bags here EG 1.8 grams White Widow for that price ...smoking a 2.50 preroll...nice roomy shop....lots of couches ...fussball table ,nice volume uptempo,chick siinger euro pop...you Yanks that would like to see a town that looks like a medeval movie set -this is the place ...English sort of spoken here ,the more Dutch you know the better for sure....CS Plein 48 is the other shop we visited ...and if you've read our review ,well its gotten even better ...they sell in 5 and 10 euro quantities ...this pre roll is pretty good ...computer runs a tab as you go looks like .37 Euro for 11 minutes so far ...not bad I guess...later

Amersfoort-CS Trenchtown...US just got its ass handed to them by Czechies...but they were happy here yesterday when Oranje won one...CSs hard to find in this town ...tucked away in little corners ...all (well the 3 we have found) have a gruis weed deal for 3 or 3.50 a gram , ...not bad, saw Nevilles Haze for 9 a gram at Alem ...local scenes in all ...only hearing dutch in these shops...CS Alem is interesting in that its directly across the street from a Dutch public School- little kids at that...imagine the mommies coming for their children ,ducking into the shop for a quick toke ...imagine that in the USA ...having a blast ,but still on the warm side ...to Middelburg tomorrow

Hey thanks for the info about the other shops. I can well imagine the locals being happy with the Dutch victory. Could have been different if S&M had more luck.

I expect the Czechs to go far after that performance (there have been some real crazy goals so far in the tournament with that new ball)

Yo ...In Breda now ...Spent the evening on the Main Square for the NL- Ivory Coast Game ...These folks are into their Voetball( and their worried about Argentina -Who wouldn't be )...hope the pix come out ...The TC rates the weed /Hash we're getting in this town as the best so far , well at least since we left Amsterdam...I tend to agree ...well I'm On the clock ...will give the details on Amersfoort,& Middelburg/Goes

In Haarlem just now ...things are getting revved up for the Argentina gam, a 9PM start here ...weather beautiful (if you like that bright sunshine) ,cool ,breezy ...Visited WW Indica earlier ...place looks great ...liked the vibe The T.C. says she likes it better than Sensimillia ...enjoyed the vibe there myself ...You should see the Hup Holland custom Oranje Vespa CS Empire is raffling off ... 5 Euros a ticket ...I have my doubts about the thing on a Appalachian Mountain road ,so I passed on buying a ticket ...but its a slick ride ...Not Much CS news to report from Xanten since its in Germany ,but the football scene ,at least there, was nothing compared to what we've seen from these Oranje fans ....hope they're cheering tonite ....home in a few ...

If still in or around Amsterdam, go to the Old Church coffeeshop and try the "Ice-Skunk" the best I had last trip for Indica, or mostly Indica!!!!
