Apartment (Hotel Amstelzicht)

Post by SilentlyScreaming »

See master thread here for background info.

So, has anyone from this forum ever dealt with the staff at the Amstelzicht hotel? I'm not expecting nose-up-your-arse style customer service, just wondered how they were to deal with in general.
More specifically, has anyone ever stayed at the canal view apartments this hotel rents out? See link above for details and dates.
The friend I'm renting it with has been there before, I was just looking to see if others here had any useful info/tips on staying in this area. (Amstel I believe, see master thread for link to map).

I've never been, but I've found this review on Tripadvisor:

GeoffK - Thanks for that, the (negative) reviews on the hotel itself I'm not overly worried about, at least the negative ones; the comments on staff mentality seems quite common from American tourists, when speaking about European customer service levels.
The first review there does not seem to like the apartment, I'm hoping things will have improved by the time we get out there; compared to where I slept a few years back - crashing in the airport each night - it is going to be difficult to upset me though ;)

If anyone else happens upon this thead in the next couple of months, please do let me know if you have any info to pass on.

Too true, my stateside brothers and sister often complain of unwelcoming staff and of course the stairs. I take those reviews with a grain of salt. I'd like to know how the apartment works out for you. My wife and I are looking to get an apartment on our next trip.

I'll definitely be reporting back on the apartment, and as much as a trip report as I can recall, prob. make some notes as I go round.
I msged BlueBerry both here and at channels, but haven't heard back at all. (Her youtube vids often involve an apartment that is just 5/6 houses away from ours I think).
