Stepping out (Alkmaar)

Post by Spaldwickapeface »

ACD Page: Stepping Out

This was the first coffeeshop I tried in Alkmaar, it was only a buy and fly so I can't tell you much about the coffeeshop except that you walk straight in and the bar is on your left hand side, there were a few guys sat around smoking. It did not have an extensive menu maybe 5 weeds and 3 hashes all Moroccan so I would not recommend Alkmaar to lovers of the black hash as I saw none. Like all the shops I tried in town you bought in either €6 or €12 amounts.

I was after some hash so I really only looked at this part of the menu super polom and tibisla were the expensive (not compared to Amsterdam!!) ones 1.6g for €12 and a regular polom at 2g for €12. I went with the Tibisla, a good choice. By the time I had walked back to our apartment, it was a hot day, it had almost melted in my pocket. Once cooled I found it was easily manipulated and quite sticky. It was a full flavoured Maroccan that burnt slowly and evenly. The stone was good and truely enjoyable, this was the best hash I picked up and I will be recommending to anyone and everyone who is prepared to listen.

I think Alkmaar would make a good day trip out of Amsterdam for the concerning stoner, it's only 35 minutes by train has some good welcoming coffeeshops that don't rip you off or sell crap product (what's the point when your custom is 98% regulars); I enjoyed my time in the city, but a day is probably about enough for most people as you can see all the sights and enjoy all the coffeeshops in this time. Give it a try

Right up there at least an 8 overall

It's not the strongest hash I have ever smoked but it certainly did the business. It was fairly well balanced, my mind was alert but not racing and I was a stoned relaxed without just wanting to sit down and mong. A very enjoyable experience, I wish this was available at home

Alkmaar is worth visiting IMHO. Been there once in 2012, during their cheesemarket fest(every friday). Some nice coffeeshops were there as well, can't remember much about them(except weed was good and cheap) cause i was battered from previous day.

I would not go out of my way especially for that hash alone, but as Papi said Alkmaar is well worth visiting, it is always good to see new places. Plus If you bought some weed/hash at all of the coffeeshops the price difference compared to Amsterdam would probably pay your train ticket ;-)

I liked the city vibe there. And all those grannies, giving you cheese samples as you smoke a doobie next to the stands...:)

I'm not a cheese fan, but seeing all those ceremonies, traditional outfits and huuuuuge rolls of cheese being transported in the town square, nice dutch experience.
And as Spaldwickapeface said, price difference on weed equals price of tickets out:)
