Oh that’s wicked mate. Me and the wife are exactly the same, our next trip to Holland our base will be in Haarlem. Love the tranquility of the place. Didn’t know about the tax hike in Dam that’s soon to come! Haarlem may get busier then lol.
Yeah, I picked one up for €20. Fantastic read. Especially for people who love the history of the Coffeeshop scene.
Thanks again for the travelogue, really enjoyed it.
Cheers, think I'll pick up a copy next time, I've looked for it online without much luck.
Quality read Smokeybee, I was just looking at the teleport hotel last night and sloterdijk in general wondering how far it actually was from central Amsterdam - would you say walking distance ?
“Gram graveyard” first I’ve heard that, but will be using that after next visit

Sloterdijk isn't walkable into central Amsterdam but it's only a few stops on the tram before you're in de Baarsjes so you could get off and walk from there if you prefer shanks's pony (as I do).
It's so easy to laugh, it's so easy to hate - it takes guts to be gentle and kind...

It's just over an hour's walk, but only around 5 minutes on the train to Centraal Station. The hotel was nice enough and much cheaper than the equivalent in the Centrum. There isn't much going on in terms of coffeeshops/bars/restaurants in Sloterdijk, but as previously stated it's a short tram ride to de Baarsjes/Bos en Lommer where you're more catered for. I'd recommend it overall.
What a fantastic write up and read that was really enjoyed it. Some of the pictures you have taken are they make a travelogue come to life and so much more enjoyable Liked the way you tried to squeeze every last drop of time in Mokum, I know that feeling only to well. Thanks for taking the time
