Nadia Hotel

Post by PomInSydney »

Hey - has anyone ever stayed here? I have booked a balcony room so I know I can at least sit outside and smoke.

On the website they have a bit about coffee shops:

Be good to hear your comments.....

Thanks Balou - I did a quick search but couldn't find a thread - looks like I picked a winner then.

Stayed in a double balcony room last June for 3 nights just before the world cup.

I liked it and will most probably stay again in Jan, the main reason i booked this place was because it was the cheapest room i could find
with a balcony for smoking.

Pros

Good location, tram stops and a Albert Heijn close by and an easy walk to
most places of interest. Lately i seem to prefer the coffeeshops and atmosphere in the Jordan area so it works out well for me.

Staff seemed to be friendly enough and were prompt to reply to emails and booking request.

Balcony came in very handy and will most probably be the main reason for choosing this hotel again.

Breakfast is ok, just cereals/bread/cheese and pastries etc nothing hot,
but its plentiful.

Cons

Room looked in need of a refurb, starting to look very tired and warn.

The room and shower/toilet area very very small, i am 6ft 3in and
struggled.

Steep set of stairs up to the reception, but this is very common in Ams.

Yes there are cons but if you want somewhere for about 75e a night thats fairly central with a balcony, its about as good as it gets.
People call stoners lazy but guess what assholes, that blunt doesn't pass itself.

Rooms are tiny but staff are really friendly.

Doesn't matter if you have a balcony room or not as far as smoking is concerned. Ask the owner and he'll supply you with an ashtray :D

Nadia is a great hotel, I always stay there. Sure, the rooms are really small but you have your own toilet and shower. A fridge also.

The staff is really friendly and the manager, Osam, is a very friendly man. What I like most is that they are flexible and try to meet my special requests whenever it is possible. I sleep long in the days and since I am missing the breakfast they give me milk, juice, cheese and whatever I need to make my own breakfast late in the day. If possible I get to keep my room long in the day on departure day also. That is what I call service!

I also wonder wtf is up with this post from "Darwin". I was recently in Amsterdam and stayed at Nadia and I am certainly not working for the hotel, but I do like the Nadia Hotel.

I am not pleased with someone making a post, with my words once again. Seems like someone is trolling...

Edit: I just checked Darwins other posts and it is all rubbish. Troll!

so stayed here for last trip during the cup..

got buzzed in and asked before entry if we would like are bags carried up, walk up some awkwardish stairs to reception..
Image
check in was at 2pm, but she had a quick check to see if room was already clean and offered us a free welcome drink each. paid up 297 euros i think..
Image
Image
so you get fridge, kettle and drinks stuff which you can take from breakfast room at any time, safe, 24 hr heating, ensuite, balcony twin room. big sash window that opens right up. was the most perfect place to sit and smoke shit loads. dont remember any english channels on the tv, but i could be wrong.
Image
balcony was nice and big perfect place was feet up on rail whilst lounging on bench, but not awesome views.when we first checked out room hung all clothes in wardrobe we both noticed this Very tin white door which we both belived to be another cupboard space (we were rather stoned)
Image
opened door to find ensuite and a big one. theres no shower head directly over toilet, you dont have to be a midget to use it and the walls were not crumbling down
Image
best unsuite ive had, but im a cheap bastard
the only drawback for me was breakfast which was coffee(as many as you like) croissant, slice of cake and cold toast with some spreads and orange juice. i would of liked an option to get a proper hot breakfast, and when we asked for a local place for breakfast lady didnt know of any.(i am being picky here as it was stated continental breakfast)
Image
over 2 canals then first on your right to paradox
Image
dam square was 2 min walk.
room number was..
Image
by far my fav hotel ive stayed in. every morning when we went out was asked if we needed new towels beds changed or room cleaned, i cannot fault them at all the balcony's on the 4th floor looked awesome, but im a lazy git when im stoned

Thanks Stuart1976 for your detailed report of Nadia hotel, with all the photos! You really took your time with your report and you obviously liked the hotel. So do I and I always stay at Nadia when I'm in Amsterdam. Three weeks ago I was just passing through, having many hours in between two flights, going back home. I came from South America and just wanted to say hi to the staff and Osam. I was welcomed and Osam also offered me a room to use for a while (at no charge) and since I was tired from my long flight this was just perfect. That is great service to well known customers and I highly appreciate that.
