Hotel Memphis?

Post by butchweiss »

We are staying the Hotel Memphis
De Lairessestraat 87
1071 NX Amsterdam, Netherlands

We know it's the most centrally located place in terms of coffeeshops (It looks like it's due south east from Vondel Park).

Any suggestions or feedback is helpful.
Thanks!

Nice hotel in the South not far from Vondelpark or De Pijp. What kind of info are you looking for? The more specifics you supply the better the suggestions you'll receive.

Sorry mate, but there are few coffeeshops close to you. Good news is you can hop tram 16 and get off @ De Graal. It's then a short walk to the other De Pijp coffeeshops.

You can also take 16 back to either Dam square or Centraal Station and explore from there. How many days are you staying?

Thanks for the tip. I realized my op had a typo. I knew we were NOT centrally located in terms of coffee shops. We will be there 4 nights so there will be plenty of time to explore.

THIS should have some shop nearby.

This one has a few in easy walking distance

This one coupled with This one will tell you where you can and where you can't country wide. The can't is mostly the three southern provinces of Zeeland, Brabant, and Limburg.

Enjoy

Looks like Hotel Memphis had some mice issues recently. We changed our hotel to The Convent in the north west part of Center City, which looks to be much more to my liking in terms of proximity to coffee shops. Kadinsky, Grey Area, Homegrown Fantasy, and Abraxas too have been suggested by friends. Looks like I can't go wrong over there, but if someone has a few othersuggestions, I would love it. Thanks

Utopia is a short walk, and the Haarlemerstraat strip is also close.

You're in a good location, have fun.

I was very impressed with this hotel for the price. It has a heated pool and hot tub, nice clean beds and sheets, and the staff is slow, but very kind and helpful.
