Hard Rock Coffeeshop

Post by avfc-herbalist »

Was exploring the Internet for all things Coffeeshops and came across a T-shirt for sale on Ebay.

It's for Hard Rock Coffeeshop, with a very similar logo to the Hard Rock Cafe

I imagine the Coffeeshop had no affiliation with the Cafe as if it did then maybe the Coffeeshop would still be around?

Any stories about this Coffeeshop?

Can't find any information about it as all search results bring up the Hard Rock Cafe Amsterdam.

Cheers Lemming. That’s interesting.

Were they a fully fledged Coffeeshop at one point then with a licence? Do you know whether they got in any trouble with the Hard Rock Cafe?

Good to see the venue still has a ‘rock’ theme.

It was a fully-fledged coffeeshop but in the wild west days before the time of licences. I think that's how they got away with the name too.

Thanks for the info Lem. I wish I could’ve visited before the licences were handed out. Sounds like it was a lot of fun.

yes I went in there once in 1989 when I had just come back from India, a friend I was staying with wanted a particular weed and they had it in stock... it wasn't great if I remember correctly, but it did use the hard rock logo etc, and so I thought it was an "official " one but I am sure Lemmy is correct, that it was more a case of the nicking there name
