The wife and I enjoyed it very much. Only 1/2 hour from Amsterdam and about a 5 minute walk to the center. Nice and laid back, with plenty of shops to see. Anytime Coffeeshop on Laat 16 was our local shop since we stayed in Heiloo. Also stopped in at High Times, right across the street from the train station. The people were super friendly, but everyone in Netherlands are nice. AzLaker 8)

The wife and I stayed in Heiloo, about 1/2 hour north of Amsterdam. Spent a week at the Golden Tulip in Heiloo and cost us 575 euros, breakfast included. This was in the middle of Oct. so not to sure when rates change. If you like peace and quite, this is the place. Small town, very friendly people. Next time we visit, we'll stay in Amsterdam and take a day trip to the outlining cities. The reason I say this is, we spent 4 days in Amsterdam and that takes a good 2 hours getting back and forth with the train and then the bus to our hotel. I would have liked to use that to see more of Amsterdam. AzLaker 8)
