Travelogue - 15th -18th December

Post by Szyslack »

Well, well, well... - So I'm back in Denmark again after a couple of haze (no pun intended) blazing days in Amsterdam. And what do I remember from this little trip? Not much - to say the least - but with the help of my scribbles here and there I shall try to piece together a report;

(See shopping list under Coffeeshops and Cannabis)

Day 1:
Got to Centraal Station just a bit after 9am, walked around for 15 minutes to find Warmoesstraat (!). Since I came from the northside of the street I bumped into The Coin coffeeshop before I bumped into my hostel (The White Tulip). I obviously decided to let my plans of going straight to Haarlem - WWSativa to be exact - flush down the drain for a "semi-awake-and-bake" and then find my hostel. So said, so it shall be done. After a quick power-nap and a freshen-up I was ready to hit the streets again. Soon as I set foot outside the door I felt this dragging towards The Coin again (whether it was the Super Skunk calling me again or if some mysterious sort of gravitational power deciding to pull me in that direction I couldn't say - could be that the girl behind the bar was extremely easy on the eyes, yeah that's it i think..) But anyway I managed to disable the invisible current I was following and ended up... 100ft from The Coin... at Hunter's Bar! OK place, didn't really fancy the music (trancy house I believe it's called nowadays) at the time so after a quick buy and a hot chocolate decided to continue my cruise of Warmoesstraat - only to end up at The Coin once more...

Now for some strange reason I decided to wander a bit more and (somehow) ended up at Stix (sorry don't know which one...) Obviously had to try their GP - heavy shit that is!!! From Stix I found The Dophins and after a quick drink there headed home and went to bed at around 6pm.

Day 2:
Woke up at 7.30am - haven't tried that for a while :) and went to... The Coin. A smoke and a hot choc later I staggered across the street (and maybe a bit down the street too - can't seem to remember much from here on out!) to The Hill Street. (Had spotted thier windows in the back the day before). Definately a nice place to hang, imagine it would be even better in summertime. Went to bed again at 10.30am only to wake up and feel somewhat refreshed at around 3pm. I must have smoked quite a bit when I got up 'cause my visit to the Central is not something I remember very much of... And then I went to bed at some point...

Day 3:
So after reading Boner's reviews and recommendations of the Willie Wortel Empire in Haarlem I had initially decided to go there straight from check-in at the hostel on day 1 - but for some reason that didn't happen...
 So now was the time to go there. It's 8am, it's still dark, it's raining and altogether not really a day to venture outside, and so - off I went! Spotted the Willie Wortel Sativa straight away and ordered a hot choc as first thing. Then straight to "the real" counter... A couple of hours went by and it'd stopped raining and I decided, high as a kite, that a visit to the WW Sensimillia would go down pretty well. Left the Sativa and walked and walked (and walked and walked and walked and walked and walked and walked) and walked straight to the Sensi. Had a smoke and a drink and then waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalked back to Sativa to stock up a bit more and then back to Amsterdam. Think I watched some footy in one of the pubs on Warmoesstraat.

Day 4:
As you can see my days seem to be less filled with glee time went by. This was not the case - just not filled with a lot of memories... :D

Anyway on day 4 I did some early morning shopping at The Coin and just chilled out/staggered around Warmoesstraat... Think I watched some footy in one of the pubs on Warmoesstraat.

Day 5:
Pretty much the same as day 4 except I managed to check my email at around 12.15pm and saw the PMs from Rob OG to meet up for a vapo session. He wrote he would be at the Sensi Coffeeshop at around 1pm. I had a quick study of a map and cruised over to the Sensi CS and was there around 12.30pm. Had a coke and a gander inside Sensi, decided to check out Ekstase CS, had a smoke and a drink, went to Sensi to look for Rob OG. Didn't see him - at least I don't think so - and decided not to let my hasty steps towards Sensi CS earlier be wasted. Hence, Volcano Vapourizer Time! Had about 0.5g of Kush Haze left and decided to burn that. Got 3 bags of (a little) vapour and was left semi-high and very disappointed. Recollecting a bit later in the day I do seem to remember seeing smoke coming out of the bag and decided that that was probably why I didn't get as gazonked as I had hoped for. Definately watched some footy in one of the pubs on Warmoesstraat.

Epilogue:
All in all a very nice trip to Amsterdam - there is just one little but (And unfortunately that's not the butt of the beautiful budgirl at The Coin): I really missed someone to share the experience with. I had a wicked trip and Main Mission: To get Stoned was Accomplished. But I bet it would have been even more fun to share the trip with someone - just a "warning" to any lone travellers out there. :)

So that was it for this time - but I have a sneaky feeling of a trip coming on sometime come spring...

No kidding. NL is the only country where I never hesitate to travel alone!
