Still haven't decided my exact dates but Spidey and I will be Bob Dylaning on the 17th. I'm thinking of arriving 16th and staying until 21st, will book in the next week.

I've been trying to compile a roll call of all our fallen heroes. So far I've got:

We also have people missing in action, such as Hestia. It would be great to hear that they're alive and well.

Depending on how my work situation ends up at that point, may have to move my proposal to the day after on Saturday.

I think 10-10:30AM would be a good time to depart Centraal Station en route to Utrecht. Given that the shorter round of kayak touring takes approx. 2-hours (add at least 45 minutes to that stoner-time); t' Grasje I believe opens at 13:00.

Is anyone up for a trip out to den haag on monday??? just a thought i know alot will have gone home by then. if no ones up for it am sure stan will be game.

Firstly, what time in the morning!!!
I'll probably have the Mrs with me through that weekend, and that means adding all of her bathroom time and leisurely breakfast on to my general allergy to mornings.

DeLekkersteNUGS16 - how about proposing a meet in 't Grasje or Culture Boat or some such around 3? That way we could add a meet in Voyagers around 2 where any other late starters could join me for a second wave attack on Utrecht to rendezvous with the early party.

@danny211204 - any chance of making that more like 2 at Voyagers? (or maybe 1 and I'll make a special effort ).

So, DeLekkersteNUGS16, do you know yet whether you want Friday or Saturday? If it might be Saturday then we have a clash here.

If it suits everyone then I wonder about making the Pijp crawl on Friday, rather than after everything else on Wednesday, and then Utrecht Saturday and The Hague Sunday.

Heads up for those lusting after a sunny, lazy bbq in the park! Vondelpark has banned the use of grills/bbqing in its premises. Therefore, if the crew wants to carry through with that plan other options will have to be explored - I think Flevopark, Oosterpark and Rembrandtpark are all potential options – of course there's Westerpark which is walkable from the center (just past the Haarlemerbuurt area) but I find it to be the least "gezellig" (or aesthetically) appealing of Amsterdam's main parks.

DeLekkersteNUGS16, Gapie, anyone else in town - can you find out the situation at 420 Cafe (de Kuil) please? I emailed Michael Veling (the owner) but got no reply (no surprise there!)

I know they survived the January deadline but I don't really understand what's happening.

I gather Utopia is still not opening until 6pm on school days. Is it the same at 420 Cafe? What does this mean? Is there still a school nearby? If so how come they're still open? If not then why can't they open all day?

If they are still effected by a school, is 4/20 week a school holiday and will they be open for us to celebrate 4:20?

Any help would be really appreciated.

There are a bit too many unknowns and too many loose questions flying around for comfort. We are afraid that all these ideas about contacting the school, trying to figuring out the process of exemption to the “open at six rule” due to holidays, finding arguments (all good) for why it is silly to begin with now that there is no school etc. will end up confusing the matter and, frankly, do fudge all when it comes to the question if we can celebrate 420 at 420 Café (de Kuil) or not. Even if we could figure out “the right answers” to all these questions it is highly unlikely that we could ever find anyone to whom it may be relevant to present our case.

IOHO the only relevant thing to do is try to get a direct answer from 420 Café (owner or manager) to the specific question and leave all the questions and theorizing aside for the moment.

As Lemming has already tried the digital way, we gotta go analogue.

So we 100 % support Lemming in the request that DLN16 / Gapie, alternatively a forum member on the ground right now or in the very close future, “simply” walk into 420 when they are open and try to see the manager (probably more likely than the owner). We suggest that we keep it as simple as possible and if the direct approach fails explore alternative venues for the celebration. Sincerely doubt that we can do anything to change things if the manager / owner at 420 says they are not open and then our time would be better spent searching for alternatives.
